Chronos Supplies Sync to BT for 21CN - BT's Next Generation Network
Chronos has supplied BT with telecom synchronisation system and equipment which will be deployed in core and metro nodes of BT’s revolutionary 21st Century Network (21CN).
Chronos is supplying the SSU-2000 unit from Symmetricom, Inc, which is designed for telecom network operators to generate and distribute superior timing signals for advanced network services. It meets the latest and evolving industry standards, including ITU, ANSI and Telcordia, and meets with all of BT’s requirements.
BT’s 21CN is a global IP infrastructure that carries voice, data and Internet services on a single network which will enable BT customers to access any communications service from any device, anywhere, at broadband speed. The 21CN will deliver more choice, control and accessibility, as well as increased flexibility, reliability and security for BT’s business and residential customers.

BT also purchased from Chronos over 100 additional licenses for Symmetricom’s TimePictra, a web-enabled synchronisation network management system that operates on a carrier-class platform with an open, scalable, modular architecture that grows and evolves with the network.
